The privacy of all members of our funds, and those we administer, is very important to us.

PRIVACY POLICY:

This is the Privacy Policy of Grosvenor Pirie Management Limited (GPML) ABN 81 002 558 956.

GPML understands and appreciates how important it is to protect your privacy by safeguarding your personal information.  This privacy policy explains our policies and practices with respect to our management of the personal information we collect from or on behalf of our clients, and the members of the superannuation Funds we administer.

What type of personal information do we collect?

GPML will only collect personal information that is necessary to provide financial service, to manage your superannuation interest (including to arrange insurance cover), and to administer the delivery of those services to you, and, where applicable, your employer.

Some examples of personal information that may be collected by us include your name, address, date of birth and tax file number.

How do we collect personal information?

Personal information is normally provided by you or collected by your employer on our behalf when you commence work with that employer.  We may require updates to this information from you and your employer during the period in which we provide services to you.

If you forward information to us either electronically (e.g. In an e-mail) or by sending it to us as a hard copy document, we will collect that information and use it for the purposes for which you have provided it to us.

Personal information may also be collected by cookies when you use our web site.  A cookie is a piece of data stored on your hard drive which contains information relating to your use of our web site.  When you visit our web site, cookies may record details of your server and your use of our site as what pages you view and download from the site.  We use cookies for internal management purposes only.  If you do not wish to use cookies, you can set your browser so that it will not accept them.

How your personal information will be managed:

GPML will take all reasonable commercial steps to ensure that all information we collect, use or disclose is accurate, complete, up-to-date and stored in a secure environment that is accessed only by authorised persons.

We will, where commercially practicable and permitted by law, destroy or permanently de-identify personal information that is no longer needed.

How your personal information will be used:

GPML will use the personal information provided by you, and, where applicable, your employer, to:

  • Provide financial and superannuation services (including to arrange insurance cover) to you,
  • Carry out administration related to those services
  • Fulfil all legal and regulatory requirements of GPML, and
  • Notify you from time to time of alternative or additional products and services GPML may provide.

Will my personal information be disclosed to a third party?

The personal information GPML collects from you or your employer is strictly confidential.  We will not disclose that information to any third parties other than:

  • Any company which provides insurance cover to you as part of the superannuation interest offered by GPML,
  • Any contractor GPML arranges to provide mailing services,
  • Your employer (if applicable)
  • Any company that provides service of data hosting or Internet web site management
  • Any superannuation vehicle to which you transfer your benefit
  • As we may be required to do by law.  For example, GPML is obliged to make information available to its auditors, to the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA), the trustee of any superannuation fund we administer, and to the Family Court if relevant proceedings are afoot.

GPML will take reasonable steps to ensure that any personal information disclosed to a third party is protected by that party in accordance with the Privacy Act (Cth) 1988 and its 2001 amendments (Privacy Act).

How you can access your personal information:

On request, you may have access to your personal information held by GPML, except in circumstances where access may be denied under the Privacy Act or other law.

Examples of these circumstances are:

  • Where providing access will pose an unreasonable impact on the privacy of another individual,
  • Where providing access would be unlawful, would pose a threat to the life or health of an individual, may prejudice an investigation of possible unlawful activity, or may prejudice enforcement of laws, or in the case where denying access is specifically authorised by law.

To make a request for you personal information, please contact our Privacy Officer (contact details below).  We will endeavour to respond to a request for personal information within 14 days.

If personal information is provided to you as the result of a request, you may be charged a fee for costs incurred in providing that information such as photocopying, administration and postage.

If access is denied we will provide you with reasons for our decision.

How you can correct your personal information:

If you believe that the personal information we hold about you is inaccurate, incomplete or not up-to-date, please let us know.  Provided we agree with you, we will correct it.  If we do not agree with you, we will post a statement of your claim where that information is kept and accessed.

Will this privacy policy change?

We reserve the right to change this policy at any time by publishing the varied privacy policy on our web site.  You accept that by doing this, GPML has provided you with sufficient notice of the variation and agree you will be provided with no separate notification.
